The MMTV LTR is responsive to glucocorticoids, some androgens (eg.
dihydrotestosterone), and progesterone.  It is not responsive to
estrogens.  This lack of responsiveness is very significant for
the biology of mouse mammary tumor virus (MMTV).  I would check
papers by Stan McKnight from the mid to late 80's.
