RE) Progammed cell death in bacteria?

Hi,

I am studing a cell inactivation mechanims of S. typhimurium and E. coli 
following heat/irradiation stress.

When compared to heat treatment, irradiation cause cell injury which could not 
be easyly identified.  Cell inactivation and lysis of irradiated cells took     on
place following incubation at 37oC.

Anyone knows about progrmmed cell death in bacteria.
I need some references and want to discuss with any experts.
