Xyleria hypoxylon is a woods fungus with a branched, woody fruiting
body variously known as "candlesnuff fungus" or "carbon antlers".
It is in the division Ascomycotina, class Pyrenomycetes,
order Sphaeriales and family Xylariaceae.
