Postdoctoral Research Associate
A postdoctoral research associate is needed for a molecular analysis of
P. cepacia. The project will include developing enrichment procedures
for the selective isolation of P. cepacia from nature as well as
developing new molecular tools for analyzing the genome of P. cepacia.
Genome analysis will include both physical methods (PFGE) as well as
genetic methods (conjugation, chromosome mapping, and cloning). A major
effort will be placed on cloning genes from P. cepacia that are involved
in biodegradation and analyzing the ability of P. cepacia to recruit
foreign genes and evolve new catabolic pathways for the degradation of
xenobiotic compounds. The position is available immediately and will be
under the supervision of Gerben J. Zylstra and Norberto Palleroni.
Please send a letter of interest including a CV to Gerben J. Zylstra,
Center for Agricultural Molecular Biology, Rutgers University, P.O. Box
231, New Brunswick, NJ, 08903-0231.
