Lagoon microbiology

Could anyone point me in the direction of experts in the field of lagoon
microbiology?  The group I am working with is trying to figure out if there 
are ways to alter or manipulate the populations in anaerobic animal waste 
lagoons to reduce odors.  Anybody know of someone who understands these 
microbial systems?
