There are also beta-lactamase indicators that give color changes in
the visible spectrum, which are less prone to interference than UV
measurements. The two indicators that come to mind are the
cephalosporin derivative nitrocefin and a molecule referred to as
Nathan O. Siemers, Ph.D.
