Marine biosurfactants

In the spirit of the recent request for more ecological topics, here is a
question that arose in a microbial metabolism course I am now teaching: Is
there any work on the biosurfactants produced by marine hydrocarbon
degraders ( e.g. Alteromonas, Marinobacter, etc.) ? Are the marine
biosurfactants different than the surfactants produced by terrestrial
hydrocarbon degraders ?

Although I am teaching this course and, therefore, supposed to know
everything, I haven't a clue as to the answer to these questions. My
database searches have revealed nothing.

Thanks,

David
