>I use the alkaline/SDS method with an lysozyme pretreament routinely. The DNA does not shear unless it's "manhandled" and is great for Southerns. Qiagen also has columns (G series) and a protocol for genomic DNA isolation. If you need further details, let me know. I'll be back at work Jan.2 and can't get more specifics.
