Role of deoR and plasmids

I was reading in the Gibco/BRL catalog that strains carrying the deoR
mutation allows improved uptake of large plasmids.

Does anyone know the basis for this? Is it improved transformation by
large plasmids? Improved replication? Would this have an impact on
production of large amounts of plasmid DNA even from smaller plasmids?
