I have read an interesting article by Frank O Bastian in ASM News, 59, 1993 on the possible role of Spiroplasma in CJD/BSE/TSEs. He was planning to carry out PCR to detect target genes in infected tissue. Has this work been reported ? What is the latest on the Spiroplasma association ?
