student biology project

I am a teacher at Saint Andrew's School in Bloemfontein South Africa.
I have a highly intelligent biology student who has embarked on
accelerated biology and is now looking to doing a project on isolating
T-Lymphocytes.  He does have access to university facilities.  Is such
a process possible?  How would one go about something like this?  Is
there a site on the internet that caters for such projects?
