Vancomycin resistant S. aureus

just as already mentioned:
"Thus far no confirmed report of resistance (to vancomycin) in 
clinical S.aureus isolates has been published" (Speller et al, 
Glycopeptide resistance in gram-postive bacteria, Clin Microbiol 
and Inf 1(Sep. 1995), p 57.
Vancomycin resistance might have been transferred by 
cocultivation on mice from enterococci ( Noble et al, FEMS 
Microbiol Letter 1992, 93: 195 - 198 ).
