Radiometric Testing

I am looking for some info regarding radiometric testing methods for
microbiological analysis.  This method is mentioned in Standard Methods,
but I have little luck finding any detailed info on the specific
procedure.  All I know is that it involves C-14 in the testing
procedure.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
