The "animal" fits an enchytraeid worm/potworm (roughly) for size and
although they expend and contract like an earthworm they don't exactly
"loop", or at least I haven't seen one do it. The other size possibility
is a hydra. They can be pretty thin and certainly do perform looping
movements or somersaults.
