A post-graduate research studentship is available part funded by 
Unilever Research and the University of Cardiff, Wales in the School of 
Pure and Applied Biology. 

The topic is to measure the dynamics of pH changes using microelectrodes 
inserted into laboratory dental plaque model biofilms. These films will 
be prepared in the Constant Depth Biofilm Fermenter or other similar 
devices. pH changes will be recorded digitally in response to pulses of 
carbohydrates especially sucrose.
