The bacterial staining procedure proposed by U.l. Zweifel and A. Hagstrom
(Appl.Environ.Micro 1985 Vol 61 (6) 2180-2185 ) suggests the use of Sodium Azide
to fix samples. The final concentration required appears pretty high to us,
however
(0.5M). We tried contacting the authors (without success) to see if the
concentration was a misprint.

Is anyone familiar with the use of Sodium Azide for this purpose?
Any comments on the use of Sodium Azide would be welcome.
