RESEARCH STUDENTSHIPS

As a result of the generosity of Suntory Limited, Osaka, Japan two research 
studentships are available in the International Centre for Brewing and 
Distilling to graduates in biological subjects.  The research projects, 
leading to PhD degrees, will consider fundamental differences between ale, 
lager  and distiller’s yeast strains. The focus will be on biochemical and 
molecular properties in relation to sugar uptake, sulphate metabolism and 
cell wall structure.
