O.K. Katherine--you are forgiven.  We are all a little touchy here 
because recently a guy in Columbus ordered Yersinia pestis from the 
ATCC "to make a vaccine to protect us from terrorist attacks."  He 
was a little whacko.  Fortunately he was caught because he called the 
ATCC to complain that the shipment hadn't arrived and in conversation 
with him, the ATCC person smelled a rat and notified CDC and the FBI. 
So, having said all that, I know nothing about growing Clostridium.  
Why don't you try to contact the authors of some recent papers 
(Schiavo et al, Nature 359:832, 1992 would be a place to start).  You 
can probably track someone down through Yahoo on the web.
