Mycobacterium kansasii Question

Mycobacterium kansasii - a nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) common in 
soil and water (especially in Southern USA). I would be most interested 
in hearing from anyone who has encountered it in a water supply. Rapid 
methods of detection in water samples are of interest as are effective 
methods of treatment in water supplies.
