UNIGEN Center for Molecular Biology at the University of Trondheim
(Norway) has an opening from January 1997 (or shortly thereafter) at the
Research Assistant level to work in the lab headed by Professor Svein
Valla. The project is part of a cooperative effort with a fermentation
group, and Research Assistant will take part in cloning and analysis of
genes involved in biosynthesis of antifungal antibiotic nystatin produced
by Streptomyces noursei. It is expected that the work performed by
Research Assistant will eventually lead to a PhD degree. Previous
experience in the field of Streptomyces molecular biology is essential.
