PLATE SAMPLE INTEGRITY

Hi,

This is an aside question coming from a non-micro person. If you were
to streak your samples and incubate it for say, 48 hours. If you find
growth, how will the integrity of the sample change within a month
period? Will it stay the same--no problem? Some strands of bug may
die off hence you technically lost your sample integrity? If there's a
problem with sample integrity, what steps would you need to avoid that?
Is there some sort of sample preparation to minimize that? Will
keeping that plates at room temperature after the incubation cause
variation in sample integrity?

Thanks for any advice you may have,

Humbly,
May
