In E. coli, there are two termination proteins, called RF1 and RF 2,
which are products of the prfA and prfB genes, respectively. RF1 acts
on UAA and UAG stop codons, while RF2 acts on UGA stop codon.
In eukaryotes a single termination factor called eRF is involved in
termination of translation, and requires GTP. I don't remember the
name of the eRF gene.
