DNA extraction from polyacrylamide gels

Hi, I did this at the last place I worked. Basically I cut the band out of
the polyacrlyamide gel put it in water (I think about 50ul), heated to
95c for a couple of minutes, and then 2ul used for the next pcr as
normal. Worked really well , and was a lot easier than other methods that
were suggested. If you want I can find out the exact details of the
protocol (above was from memory) but I don't have them at hand at the
