Does anybody have a better BT
>isolation protocol or an idea from which sources we may have more luck?



I don't have any specific suggestions, except that you may not find Bt at
very high levels in soil. I suggest you consult the book 'Bacillus' edited
by C.R. Harwood (Plenum Press, New York, 1989), especially the chapter on
isolation and identification by F.G. Priest. I don't have it at hand
unfortunately.
