Help? How to increase intracellular protein

Are there general growth conditions, or growth medium additives, that
tend to increase the level of intracellular protein in bacteria.  We are
working with a gram-negative Comamonas sp., normally grown in a basal
salts medium with 0.2 sodium acetate.  The molar C:N ratio of the medium
is 1.3.

Any help or literature references much appreciated.
