mutational bacterial strains

I believe the common terminology would have them as "mutator strains".  Check
out "A SHORT COURSE IN BACTERIAL GENETICS" by Jeffrey Miller (Cold Spr.
Harbor, 1992) FOR INTRODUCTION TO e. COLI MUTATOR STRAINS AND THEIR USE.
