Penn State Wastewater Biology Series is in its ninth successful year of
national delivery. This series of ten different courses presents a
biological approach to wastewater operation. It emphasizes the use of
microbiological and microscopic techniques to correlate operational and
environmental conditions with plant performance or upset conditions.
The courses have the potential to save time and money by assisting
operator training and certification testing.

The courses are designed for operators, technicians, and engineers
involved in the daily operation, process control, and troubleshooting
of wastewater treatment processes. State approvals of these courses are
in place in nearly every state.

Note: A formal background in biology, chemistry, or engineering is not
required, and the courses do not require a prerequisite. You may
register for any combination of the courses, as the sessions are not
sequential.
