You have to be real carefull on this one and I dont therefore think quick
and easy is a option. One shot diagnostics are something to beware of given
the various complexity and factors effecting accurate differentiation  of
Salmonella species and C/F.

Quick and accurate is an option if you have the tech support and
accesability to PCR or Ribotyping facillities.

Being realliably informed and confindent would invovle  full biochemical
screening ( a la API or some such kit or LIA in combination with TSIA)
together with serological screening to group or species level.
