Please note that E. faecalis is NOT an Enterobacter but an
Enterococcus.....BIG difference. Enterobacters are gram negative rods.
Enterococcus is a gram positive cocci.
You need biochemicals - sugars, decarboxylases, etc. to ID these.
Commercially this can be done by API kits, or automated systems like Vitek
or Microscan.
