[Microbiology] Bacterial colony size

Hi all,
I'm undergrad micro student
Currently, I'm using two bacterial strains (wild type & mutant strain) for my project
When I plate the strains on LB plates, the colony size of the wild type is bigger than that of the mutant strain. And I'm wondering why this is happening. Any ideas please...
