I am a graduate student in the applied at mathematics program at
Princeton U. and have been working in probability and stochastic
processes. Right now, I am searching for a good area of application and
hoping to nail down a thesis topic sometime in the not so distant
future. I have read a fair amount on the work in theoretical population
genetics involving stochastics (coalescents, Wright-Fisher and other
models, diffusion approximations) and am wondering if anyone is aware of
any open problems in these areas or references to recent work that may
lead to more work needed to be done. Any lines you might wish to throw
me would be most appreciated, but please e-mail me rather than posting
as I am not a religious reader of this group.

Thanks much,
Chris
