Exactly how does one define parthenogenesis? The Asiatic clam Corbicula
(a FW species) is a simultaneous hermaphrodite that can, and does, self-
fertilize. Is each offspring a clone? What happens to the classic def-
inition of a species (viable offspring from two parents) under such
conditions? 

                                    And why doesn't the Federation use
                                    cloaking devices, anyway...?
