The E. coli genome meeting will be held 4 Nov to 8 Nov 1994 at
Woods Hole, MA. There will be talks on genome evolution, but
this is not a broad-based meeting. Registration deadline is
26 Sept, so contact Monica Reilly quickly if interested.
The next Gordon Research Conference on 'Population Biology and
Evolution of Microorganisms' will be held toward the end of
July 1995. They are only held every two years, but this is the
most intensive meeting on microbial evolution to which I have
been exposed. Look for a summary in the usual February/March
issue of Science for a schedule.
