Please note that the discipline covered by the NSF Postdoctoral Research
Fellowships in Molecular evolution is very broad. Quoting from the
Announcement: "...NSF and the Sloan Foundation envision molecular evolution
studies involving the biological sciences in concert with other
disciplines, both in concepts and techniques, and encourage applications
that reflect a broad scientific spectrum. Such studies involve the
theoretical, comparative, computational, and/or experimental analyses of
biological patterns and processes at the molecular level, within the
framework of organismic evolutionary change and adaptation. These studies
also include the use of molecular data to address broader evolutionary
questions."

I would read this to cover phylogenetic, population genetic, and behavioral
ecology studies that use molecular tools as well as evolution of
biomolecules, and would encourage applications from all whose research and
other qualifications fit the guidelines.
