mtDNA repeats

I think that this is already unknown in plants. In mammals you can take a 
look to this recent paper: R. Zardoya et al.(1995) Current Genetics 28, 
94-96, which details some aspects on repeats in the D-loop region of 
mitochondrial genomes.
