Comparative genetics

Dear all,

I'm wondering where the best place is to find some info on the work
that has been done on comparative genetics between humans and
other species. I'm aware that there's a whole section on the Genome
Project devoted to this very area, and would appreciate a few
references.

Also, there's a figure about (and I've used it frequently myself)
concerning the degree of similarity between Chimpanzee & Human DNA
sequences, of the order of 98.4% sequence homology. Is this the
best and latest estimate, and does it refer to coding regions or
all regions of the genome?

Thanks,
Shane
