A confidential source, but internationally known and respected anthropologist,
told me many years ago that he/she was aware of one "experiment" where a 
female chimp had been artificially inseminated with human sperm with a 
successful fertilization (zygote formation).  However, the embryo died 
in-utero and/or was spontaneously aborted.  This is my "two-bits" of 
"hearsay" on the subject, but I consider the source of my hearsay reputable.
