GTG as eukaryotic start codon

Hi,
Recently we have cloned a sponge (porifera) tyrosine kinase, which 
appears in long and short forms. While the ORF of the long form begins 
with a classic ATG, the short starts either with GTG immediatly 
following 2 inframe stop codons or with a Met that is located far away 
downstream and does not conserve structural features of this gene. 
I would appreciate if anyone could refer me to a publication or 
accession No. of such a previously cloned eukarytic gene.
