NSERC Women’s University Faculty Award (WUFA). Genomics/Bioinformatics

The University of Ottawa invites applications for this Faculty-level award
from qualified candidates. The  appointment, which is contingent on success
in the NSERC competition, will be made in  the Department of Biology at the
Assistant Professor level, to commence 1 July 1999. The Department has an
established, and growing, group of faculty researchers in molecular
evolution  and a major grant has been submitted to the Canadian Foundation
for Innovation to enhance existing facilities for genomics and
bioinformatics research.  Current research interests of faculty members
include molecular phylogenetics, microbial genomics, and the evolution of
gene structure. For this position, we are interested in candidates who, in
addition to meeting the NSERC criteria for the WFA award, are actively in
engaged in any area of genomics and/or bioinformatics research.   As the
university is a bilingual institution, preference will be given to
candidates able to teach in both French and English.  Applicants should send
