The Department of Biological Sciences, Mississippi State University,
invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
position, beginning August 16, 2000. We are seeking a broadly trained
individual who uses molecular techniques to study evolutionary mechanisms.
Preference will be given to applicants studying evolutionary developmental
biology. Qualifications include a completed Ph.D., an established record
of research productivity, and post-doctoral experience. Teaching
experience is desirable. The successful candidate is required to develop
an externally funded research program and to direct graduate students. The
application should include a curriculum vitae, a concise statement of
research and teaching interests, and up to three reprints. The applicant
should arrange for the submission of three letters of reference. Screening
will begin January 10, 2000 and will continue until the position is filled.
