Hi. I am teaching graduate level Plant Pathogenic Fungi next spring. This
course will start with some taxonomy and then go into fungal physiology.
I must put together 14 laboratories & am looking for ideas.
I am thinking 1-2 lab each on Basidiomycetes, Oomycetes,
Ascomycetes & Deuteromycetes. I want to show examples of each & just have
these macroscopic & microscopic observations labs. I think I can come up
w/ plenty for the latter 2 but what would people suggest for Basidios &
Oomycetes? Are there certain genera, spp fun & informative to look at?
(and easy to grow)
Then plan to do rest of labs as fungal physiology labs. Although I
have topic ideas, I have no actual plans. Be greatful if any of you have
taught successful labs on this topic & can share ideas with me.
Thanking you all very much,
Nancy P. Keller
