Steam Pasteurization

I'd like to hear from anyone who has had any experience with steam 
pasteurization of sawdust substrates. 

Paul Stamets has an excellent chapter on it in his latest book and I'd
like to get some design ideas from other small-scale growers. A retort plus
the steam source for it runs around $25K, so high pressure sterilization 
is out of the question for us small guys.
