Dear mycologists,
I need some information about anthracnose of Platanus x acerifolia.
Is it possible, that 90 years old Plane-trees are killed by an severe
attack of Apiognomonia veneta (Discula platani)?
The crowns of the concerning trees died back in the last few years. On
the twigs there are a lot of small necroses, typical of Apiognomonia.
The great lesions on the stem are surrounded by dead callus-tissue. From
samples, taken in these areas, we can isolate Discula with high
frequency.
Any suggestions and references are welcome
