Verpas on the Columbia

   I was down in Portland a few last monday, and took pictures of Verpa
Bohemica in the sand, under cottonwoods, by the Columbia.  This was the
only morel up so far, and there was only one specimen past its prime, so
things are just beginning.
   I expect to find Morchella semilibre, and perhaps some esculenta in
about two weeks when I return there.  This has been the mushroom report.
