How to Preserve Tricholoma magnivelare

I've run into quite a few Matsutake and want to preserve them.  Someone
mentioned freezing them whole without any preparation.  What is the
preferred method to insure best quality when they are to be used?  Drying? 
If so, what is the prep? Cooking and then freezing?  Freezing without
cooking?  Ground into powder?  Thanks!!!
