POST-DOCTORAL POSITION AVAILABLE
Post-doctoral position in fungal epidemiology and ecology available
immediately in the Department of Plant Pathology, University of Georgia,
Athens. The project will focus on the development and evaluation of new
management strategies for peach brown rot (caused by Monilinia fructicola)
utilizing 1) more accurate prediction of disease pressure during the pre- and
postharvest intervals based on assessment of latent infection by M.
fructicola; and 2) evaluation of synergistic interactions in fungicide
mixtures for economical disease control and resistance management.
Ph.D. in Plant Pathology or related discipline required. Candidates must have
a strong background in ecology and epidemiology of plant pathogens and
experience in fungal taxonomy and identification. Skills are required in
statistics, writing projects and journal articles, teamwork, and project
management.
