psilocybin - what's it for?

I have heard and have a suspicion that psilocybine
functions as an antibiotic. This is because the
alkaloid seems related to sporulation

(when sporulation begins - psilocybine levels go down)

and the psilocybine seems to be concentrated in the gills
and the cap (gills will blue strongly when injured).

What if psilocybine is a powerful germ killer?

Anyway, it has got to do something other than make people
have trips. That seems to be irrelevant to the fungus.
