Postdoctoral Position in Fungal Molecular Biology/Biochemistry
A two-year postdoctoral position is available for a qualified individual
to work on molecular or biochemical aspects of ergot alkaloid
biosynthesis. Genes involved in the process have recently been cloned
>From Claviceps purpurea and Neotyphodium spp., providing opportunities
for the development of high impact studies. Requirements: Ph.D. in a
relevant field and ability to contribute to one or both of the following
aspects of the project: 1) structural and functional analyses of the
cloned genes; or, 2) characterization of enzyme activity and secondary
products of fungi in which toxin biosynthesis genes have been mutated.
