Had avery disappointing foray on Saturday, due mostly to the lack of rain in
the preceding week.
The only point of real interest was that for the first time ever I've
encountered the delightful Volvariella bombycina, growing on dead wood.
As I say, I've never found this before, and I'm curious to find out just how
rare this beast is. Does anyone have any info on the frequency (or
otherwise) of this beautiful fungus in the UK?
