IMC 8
The International Mycological Association solicits proposals from
mycologists interested in organizing and hosting the Eighth International
Mycological Congress in 2006. 

If you would like to pursue the possibility of making an important
contribution to international mycology, please contact the President of
IMA as soon as possible and no later than 1 April 2002 for more
information on the preparation of a proposal for consideration by the
Executive Committee of IMA.  It is important that committed mycologists be
involved directly in all phases of the planning.  The site of IMC 8 must
be chosen well before IMC 7 in Oslo (11-16 August 2002).

Proposals will be considered on the basis of details indicating the
ability to hold the meeting for an anticipated several thousand
mycologists and geographical variety in meeting sites.  Previous
International Mycological Congress sites have been: IMC 1, Exeter, UK
(1971); IMC 2, Tampa, USA (1977); IMC 3, Tokyo, Japan (1983); IMC 4,
Regensberg, Germany (1990); IMC 5, Vancouver, Canada (1994), IMC 6,
Jerusalem, Israel (1998).
